Our trip to Jacksonville

As most of you know, we just got back from the ACC Tournament in Jacksonville, FL. We had a lot of fun but it was a pretty exhausing trip! The Cavaliers made a great showing at the tournament. They came into the tournament as the #6 seed. Our conference is very competitive - the #1, #2, and #3 teams in the country are in our conference. We ended up on the most difficult side of the bracket, facing #1 North Carolina and #3 Florida State and Wake Forest. We beat North Carolina in a grueling 11 inning game that lasted until 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday night. We beat FSU (rain delay included) in a game that lasted 4 hours and 15 minutes on Friday night. Winning both of these games got us to the Championship game on Sunday. We still had to play the late game (again lasting until 1:30 a.m.) against Wake on Saturday night. The Championship Game was on Sunday against Miami. The odds were not in our favor but there is always next weekend. More to come on that...

Kason enjoyed his trip to Florida. He loves the ballgame and insisted upon staying up for the better part of all of the games. Luckily, the late nights didn't change his sleeping any. We got to spend a lot of time with Heather and Gavin (cousins). We had dinner one night, did a little shopping another day, and spent most of the day Saturday with them and their friends. Kason really likes the swimming pool and the nice grass in Florida. He and Hefner (Heather and Gavin's dog) became great friends. Hefner shared kisses and Kason shared his baby duckies.

Yesterday was the selection show for the NCAA Tournament. Our Regional (yes, they do call it a "regional") is at Cal State Fullerton. Other teams in our bracket are Cal State Fullerton, UCLA, and Rider. The team will leave tomorrow. Kason and I are opting out this weekend. If they win, we will go next weekend. For any of you that get ESPN-U, the games from our Regional will be shown on that channel. Hope you can watch and root on the Wahoos!!!
