Christmas 2007

Kason had a wonderful first Christmas and was spoiled by all. Mariah sent him the Christmas pajamas. Check out his Cardinal present from his friend Mr. Steve. It was full of all the gear he will need for baseball season. Santa got his Chris Long jersey signed. (Oh and Mommy finally got to meet Howie Long while out at dinner last week:)) He got a beautiful stocking from Martha and Dudley and had so much fun seeing what Santa left there! Of course there is much, much more and we appreciate all of your gifts and missed you all at Christmas time!

We hope to post a new video soon. He has learned lots of new tricks. He has been rolling over for a couple of weeks now. We found him on his tummy in his crib on Christmas morning. He and Karl play "SuperKason" and he still sucks on Karl's nose for those of you who have seen that trick. He likes to grab my face and hair. He has also decided that he likes DuPont. He pulls his hair, but DuPont just rolls over and thinks he is trying to scratch his belly.

A busy December

We have been so busy getting ready for the holiday that we haven't done much blogging. Here are a few pictures of what Kason has been up to. He has been going to work with Mom and Dad, playing with friends, shopping with Daddy, and helping out around the house! He also had his first babysitter.

Clemey's visit

Just after Thanksgiving, Kason had a visit from his cousin, Clemey. She lives in London but was in the US visiting family and friends. We had a great time and were all so happy that she and Kason got to meet!

Tyler's Christmas Party

Kason was invited to a Christmas party today that was hosted by his friend Tyler. Although he was the youngest and the smallest, he still had a good time watching all of the other kids. It is evident by the pictures that the parents had the best time. What we really needed was a picture of all the people taking pictures!

Thanksgiving

It was just the three of us for Thanksgiving. We ate a lot of food and did a lot of nothing. Kason attended his first UVa athletic events during that week. On Wednesday, we went to the basketball game. On Friday, we went to the UVa vs. Virginia Tech football game. It was a lot of fun, even if it didn't go so well for the Hoos!

Outer Banks

We took a little weekend trip to the Outer Banks. We had a great time even if Kason wasn't very impressed with his first look at the ocean.

I should have known that I wouldn't be very good at "blogging." It looks like I have a whole month to catch up on here. It has been fairly uneventful. We have been busy with work and the usual holiday preparations. Kason is learning new tricks every day. He is starting to enjoy tummy time a little more. He can grab and hold on to most things. He occasionally sucks his thumb, but always has something in his mouth. He has started spending time in his Bumbo seat and really likes that!

Kason's Baptism

Kason was baptized on Sunday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlottesville. His Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Becca are his Godparents. He didn't cry at all and even smiled at the priest as he recieved his blessings. He did spit up ALL OVER his gown before the baptism and poop his pants in a major way when it was over. Thanks to Uncle Jeremy, we got that all cleaned up before he ruined his special outfit. Kason wore the same gown that was worn by his mommy, his Uncle Jonathan, Uncle Jeremy, and Cantley. Gram made it and the bonnet and the slip were made from Nanna's wedding dress. We had lots of visitors for the weekend from out of town and many of our friends here in town joined us for the baptism and for lunch afterwards. It was very special.

Happy Halloween

We took Kason to the Lawn at UVa for his first Halloween. He didn't seem to get much of a thrill out of it. We decided against a costume and just went with his "first Halloween" outfit. He did a little trick or treating with his Dad. Most of the time, we just walked around and visited with friends and looked at costumes. We saw Kason's friend, Tyler, who is 4 months older than him. Tyler was dressed as a dragonfly, but the costume didn't last long.

2 Months Old

Kason is just over 9 weeks old now. He had his 2 week appointment yesterday. He now weighs 10 lbs. and 5 oz. and is 21 1/2 inches long. He has grown a lot in the last month and is getting much more alert and active. As you can see from the last post, he has a big smile. He is also starting to make lots of funny noises. He is still waking up about every 2-3 hours, but he had a great night last night. At one point he slept for 4 1/2 hours. (It was probably the Tylenol he got from having 4 shots yesterday.)

This morning he has a play date with his friend Soloman (hahaha). I work with Soloman's mom and he and Kason were born at the same hospital just a couple of hours apart. This afternoon we are going to go to the Lawn. It is the thing to do here on Halloween. All of the kids in town trick or treat the students who live on the Lawn. We are meeting several other babies there - just going to socialize. We decided to skip the Halloween costume this year. Tonight we will hand out candy at home. It is DuPont's favorite time of the year. He goes nuts over all the kids and the doorbell constantly ringing.

We are looking forward to his big weekend and all of our visitors.

A little fall fun

Today we met our friends, the Bundricks, at Carter Mountain which is in Madison County, just north of Charlottesville. This weekend was the annual Apple Harvest Festival. They had arts and crafts, entertainment, food, hayrides, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, and much, much more. Kason was great. He rode around in his stroller and checked it all out. He had his picture made like the big kids, Katie (7) and Jake (4) in the animal cut outs and the pumpkin patch - although he wasn't a big fan of either. We told him he should just be thankful that we didn't have him all dressed up in a silly tiger costume like the other baby we saw (who was screaming). He was dressed for the occasion in his Halloween outfit that his Aunt Brenda got for him. We decided it was best if he skipped the hayride and pony rides. Kason enjoyed meeting Christy and Bo and the kids and smiled at them a lot. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time!

the scoop

I have found that I am not very good at regularly sending photos of Kason, so hopefully you will all save this to your favorites and check in on us periodically.

As you all know Karl and I were thrilled to welcome an addition to our family on August 25. Kason Moseley was born at 4:18 a.m. weighing 7 lbs. and 14 oz. and was 19 1/2 in. long. He is now approaching 8 weeks and close to 10 lbs. He has been a great baby!

Kason's Nana and Big John set out for Virginia as soon as we were convinced he was on his way. Unfortunately, their flight was delayed and then cancelled, so they didn't get here until the afteroon. It worked out for the best. The pace has slowed down by then! We had a great visit. They stayed for a week and Uncle Jeremy came on Friday for the weekend. We were very sad to see them all go!

At 6 weeks Kason and I took a trip to Arkansas. It was sooooooooo much fun. We surprised Uncle Jonathan, Aunt Natalie, and Cousin Cantley. Kason was introduced to all 11,000 people in Magnolia, AR and about 100 others from the corner of the state. He visited his Virgil and Gram and Nana and Big John had "Open House" so that they could show him off. Cantley was a great big cousin. She poked him and rubbed his head (hard) and spoke so sweetly to her "little man." Very cute. She shared her toys and poured him "milk" from all of her tea sets.

We feel like we have reached a milestone this week. Kason can now spend time on his own playing on the floor or in his swing. He loves spending time with his dad when he wakes up in the morning. They just laugh and laugh.

As for Karl and I, there is little to tell. We don't sleep a lot, but it doesn't seem to bother us too much any more. Karl has been busy with the Orange and Blue World Series. I spend my days with Kason and have started doing a little work from home this week.

For now, we are looking forward to his baptism on November 4th and all of our visitors! (FYI - the baptism will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church following the 11:30 a.m. mass. Afterwards, we will host a celebration at our house. All are invited!)

Keeping up with the Kuhns

We decided to join the crowd and get ourselves a blog. We have really enjoyed keeping up with several of our family and friends this way. Now you can keep up with us!
