Always behind...

As usual, I have a month of catching up to do. We have been so busy. We have had a lot of company, done a little traveling, and who knows what else! Mom and Dad visited in March. I don't have a lot of pictures from that. Mom took a bunch with her camera and I haven't gotten copies yet. Here is a picture of Kason and his Big John playing with the house.

Jeremy spent about 5 days with us. Unfortunately, it was a tough time. Jeremy was stuck babysitting a sick baby most of the time!! Kason was sick the whole time he was here and in a very bad mood. Jeremy handled it well. He is a pretty good babysitter!! He did great with lunch time and all the dirty diapers:) Luckily, Jeremy was able to take in a little Cavalier baseball while he was here. He also got Kason all decked out for the Razorback game. I wonder if their loss had anything to do with the fact that Jeremy forgot to get himself ready and wore UNC colors????

We got to celebrate Easter with Jeremy - although we didn't make it to church since Kason was sick. He didn't even get to wear his Easter clothes. The Easter Bunny did come and brought him some egg shakers and a baseball clock for his room.

Unfortunately, Kason finally did get to wear his Easter outfit when we had to make an unexpected trip to Arkansas. On March 31st, my Gram (Mom's mom - Betty Fields) died. Gram had Alzheimer's and had been in a nursing home for the past 12 years. In many ways, this was a blessing, but it will be an adjustment for everyone. (You can read more about this on Stacee's and/or Jonathan's blog. No need for me to repeat!) HOWEVER, we had a great trip home!! We had so much fun seeing all of our family. Much of the family got to meet Kason for the first time. He loved playing with all of his cousins and his Aunt Jane and Uncle Stan. He got to see all of the friends and neighbors that he loves so much. Here are some pictures and there are more on Stacee's blog. Kason loved it when his Uncle Stan read his book to him, complete with animal sounds. Mom also has a great picture of Jane giving him his bottle that I hope to get and post here.Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who supported and cared for my family . So many of you made the trip to the funeral home or funeral, brought food and gifts, sent cards and called, and much, much more. Several donations to the communities that Jane and Stan live in have been recieved as well. You are all so generous. I am always completely overwhelmed by what wonderful friends my family is blessed with. We TRUELY love and appreicate all of you and don't take the time to say it as often as we should.
Kason made his traditional visit to MJHS and Mom's old classroom (some of us prefer to call it Mrs. McGee's room, right Mrs. McGee??). He was a hit with the students and all of his teacher "grandmas," too.

We were very excited to return home and get to see Judi and Richard Franks while they were on their trip to see Lauren. We had a pretty special treat after that. Donna (daughter of Jimmy and Dorothy White) and Gary Burry and their girls, Stephanie and Allison stopped in for a visit. They were on a tour of colleges during the girls' spring break. It was so nice to get to spend some time with these very special friends of our family! We really had a great visit and hope that they come to see us again soon. The girls are just beautiful. Kason was in love. We are going to do all that we can to lure Stephanie to UVa. As we told her, we already have her bedroom ready - and a babysitting job lined up. Once we get her here, we will have to start working on Allison.

Saturday was a beautiful day. Kason and I took a 4 mile walk on the Rivanna Trail along the river. He had so much fun. He just rode along and kicked his feet the whole time. When we got home, he played in the yard for the first time while I potted a few plants and listened to the ballgame. Go Hoos (the boys swept Maryland last weekend).

This week Kason's Aunt Kris and Uncle Jon are visiting from Houston. He was showered with gifts upon their arrival. He is having a great time. There will be more pictures to come...
